Hey to all of my new followers:
It’s come to my attention after a small hiccup that I should probably just warn everyone that I will be unable to follow other player characters as Claire (the-standing-walken). The reason for this is because it appears I am unable to follow from a secondary tumblr account, and Claire is renting space with my primary.
This will not affect anything else about my play time. It looks like everyone else can still follow Claire separately, and I can still post responses to this account. But I just can’t follow anyone as the-standing-walken.
Why don’t I just make a separate account? Basically, my previous experience handling multiple accounts on one site ended with me forgetting what my username and/or password was for at least one of the accounts. So having all of Claire’s business jointed with my main blog is just easier for me, and it also helps me to keep active in roleplay because his name is just a click away on my dash.
I’m sorry if this initially caused some confusion for anyone. Hopefully this will not discourage interaction. We’re nice! Claire’s a sweetie! (Just don’t piss him off.)

This thought is wrong, because in the anime, Izaya is the main antagonist.
So, Izaya does have a main role.
Saying Izaya is the “main antagonist” of Durarara!! is like saying the Joker is the “main antagonist” of Batman. Batman has several different arch-villains, the same as Izaya makes a LOT of enemies.
Ryohgo Narita—the creator of DRRR!!—has a patterned habit of having multiple “main characters,” which was most reflected in Baccano! (to the best of my knowledge), however, it is also definitely present in DRRR!!.

Oh my. I’ve actually thought about this and I really don’t feel like they would, actually, as much as I love both of them (seriously). I feel like they would have disputes, such as Claire claiming the world is his and Izaya saying humans are his and that he doesn’t like to share. Plus if Izaya were to mess with someone Claire was particularly protective of, that wouldn’t bode well. And? Let’s not forget about Claire’s claim that mercy and compassion are virtues only the strong are privileged to possess. Izaya doesn’t really show signs of either.

((So, this happened and now I’m wondering if this person happens to roleplay Claire anywhere. If so, where? If not, why? What happened was I found this headcanon and reblogged it on my personal saying why I couldn’t see it being accurate. Then someone somehow found my post and did this in character bit, which is so good. I hope you enjoy it like I did~ Though my muse was less than happy with some of it, as you can imagine xD))

I DO roleplay Claire, however, I have not had a shot at playing him on Tumblr. But here’s the story behind his response, if you’re interested:
There was actually a verse I played with a close friend of mine where we vampirized Claire, mostly as an excuse to keep him young and alive in a DRRR setting. He ended up taking a huge liking to Shizuo (and in fact, later in the game, we officially married them off as a pair), but of course, he saw Izaya messing around with him, and my Claire was not a fan.
Claire had an encounter with Izaya where he grossly tortured the man—I believe it was for toying with Shizuo and something else that he was doing to Kida, whom Claire also liked—and the two of them clashed so badly that my partner’s Shinra actually expressed genuine concern to Izaya that he should just back off.
When the smoke finally cleared from their violent skirmishes, Izaya was left marked and scarred all over, but not before he managed to destroy Claire’s total state of solipsism. Izaya struck at Claire’s relationship with Shizuo, and until it was later repaired with a second chance and a ring on Shizuo’s finger, Claire really did not know what to do with himself.
TL;DR: My Claire had a HUGE disagreement with my RP partner’s Izaya in another game, so the response that you got was pretty much based upon the incidents that happened in that verse.
